President Barack Obama speaks about preventive health care in a speech. He says that U.S. citizens spend less than 4 cents of every dollar they spend on medical expenses on preventive health care even though 80 percent of the risk factors involved in the leading cause of disease are behavior related and thus preventable. He points at the fact that health care providers have no financial incentive to encourage patients to eat right, exercise, or go to annual checkups. Medical providers profit when people are treated for disease.
