This Memorial Day, the No Insurance Club is using its social media presence to help http://tweettoremind.org/ with their amazing venture. Remind.org is an organization founded by journalist Bob Woodruff and his family, and aims to raise $1.65 million for returning war veterans.
This is an amazing cause, and one that should remind everyone why we celebrate Memorial Day. Sure, it’s a long weekend, a chance to hang out on the boat and have a few drinks in the sun, but never forget who we honor on Memorial Day weekend.
Since No Insurance Club can get a bit obsessive with our Twitter account, we are honored to be able to help spread the word for our veterans.
Tweet to ReMIND is a celebration of support for the United States service men and women created by the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s ReMIND.org. ReMIND.org is ensuring our heroes return home with the assistance they need to successfully integrate back into society. Through the power of the social web, Tweet to ReMIND aims to raise $1.65 million by Memorial Day, May 25, 2009. – Tweettoremind.org
This is a big weekend for the organization, which so far has raised over $20,000. The money is going directly to our war veterans who have returned home with post traumatic stress disorder, and other mental and health issues. Remind.org is determined to help our veterans acclimate themselves to civilian life, which can be extremely difficult.
According to their website, over 320,000 war veterans suffer from brain injuries who struggle to process information, 300,000 suffer from post-traumatic stress, and 35,000 suffer from extreme physical ailments. These are the men and women we are honoring this Memorial Day weekend.
Their social media campaign is going to blow-up Twitter this Memorial Day weekend in its attempt to raise more funding. The No Insurance Club asks everyone out there to do their part and donate the small $5.25.
Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!!
