So Madonna has some scary biceps, who cares! Apparently everyone on the internet today does. Madonna and her arms were the top searched for term on Google for most of the day. The photo of Madonna’s biceps took the cake for page views and unnecessary publicity, but hey, no publicity is bad publicity, right?
“Oftentimes when your body fat is really, really, low, as Madonna’s is, you’re going to see veins pop,” explained Leslie Bonci, director of sports nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “Her body fat is minimal, and she does a lot of strength training workouts that are going to build her muscles to look more visible.”
For a 50-year-old woman with some kids running around the mansion, some bulging biceps to go along with her bulging wallet and bulging tour schedule isn’t such a bad thing. So she works out! Good for her, right? Every 50-year-old mom should be getting to the gym.
But, Madonna’s biceps may be a lack of hydration and nutrients, perhaps the result of a strict diet. Drinking enough water and staying hydrated are keys to a successful workout. Haven’t you been to the gym and noticed the serious athletes usually have a full gallon of water with them during their workouts. The only time you will not see a weight-lifter without his gallon of water is if he, or she, is preparing for a show.
Maybe Madonna’s biceps are preparation for her gun show that take place during every one of her concerts? Who knows? And then there are those skeptics who think the Material-Girl gone All-Natural-Chick has been up to some not-so-natural cosmetic procedures.
Whatever the case, you look at the photo of Madonna’s biceps and decide for yourself.
