The best laid plans with ABC’s best-laid to jumpstart the debate about health care reform it still came across as an “infomercial,” as many have complained. This so called “Prescription for America”, Obama spent over 60% of the time as his questioners, vaguely answering or not addressing the questions asked of him at all. Why didn’t ABC just donate time to Obama an hour of presenting his personal views? Were they afraid that his teleprompter would lose power or that he would just blow it? Did it come across that Obama was just there to promote his plan and not to actually address any concerns that the public may have? ABC (government owned network) consistently presented the event as part of the need to fix a “broken system.”
When asked, every one of the 164 hand-picked audience members all stated that a there was a definite need for health care reform. There was one question that Obama definitely danced around and never did answer. He could not or would not give a direct answer when asked would he use this health care fix-it program for himself and his family. So the only conclusion that can be drawn from his refusal to answer the question must be the old adage ‘do as I say, not do as I do’. So I guess in this case ‘what is good for the gander is not good for the goose’.
Obama appeared on the ABC network in what they would like to refer to as a town hall format aired from the White House. Obama is doing his best to try and make this pressure look family friendly to bully through his so called health care reform.
ABC’s “Good Morning America” co-host Diane Sawyer billed the event as “a serious conversation” . While health care reform is most definitely a serious issue the vague answers certainly didn’t give any serious and pertinent answers to the much needed health care reform.
If you can actually say Obama had to face some difficult questions — from the audience and ABC — he faced no Republican critics or questions from opposing views or proposals about this health care reform. Obama was allowed to dominate the program as a blow hard with long-winded and vague answers. Out of the 75 minutes the network allotted over the two programs (commercials excluded) Obama managed to take 60 percent of that time: 45 minutes to give 19 vague responses – not exactly the “dialogue” advertised by ABC:
By all accounts Obama has a not so noble but most lofty and extremely expensive proposal for America’s health care reform which no doubt will be funded/financed by us that is you and me Joe and Jane Taxpayer.
Obama has assured us over and over again this will not significantly impact the present health care system but will only improve health care services because the government will be running it. Yikes!! Yes, we have excellent examples of our government running other programs don’t we? Do you really think this is even slightly possible?
Any term you prefer to refer to this proposed system, ‘government-run health care,’ ‘national health care,’ ‘universal health care,’ or ‘socialized health care’ (which is the true term) will deplete/destroy our superior health care system over any other country in the world. These proposals will tear us down and we the peon-citizens will be paying the cost and suffering just as other nations with socialized health care. Many are calling this system a ‘health care hell’. If this system is implemented we too will experience the ‘health care hell.’ Obama and his liberal congress is hell bent on forcing this on all Americans.
Just so you are aware Obama and congress will be exempt from this forced socialized health care. Yep, that’s right. They will have their superior preferred health care system. We can only come to the conclusion, they are superior, better, and more important that you and me, Joe and Jane Public. Who do they think they are that they will not be subject to this proposed socialized health care? Does this not tell you and me, “we” are peons to be walked on?
McCain says this will affect the future of all Americans (except the elite, Obama and congress) so get informed and involved. Make your voice heard.
